General Summary:
Under the direction of the director, Portfolio Services, perform real estate valuations relating to the real estate portfolio for State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS Ohio).
Summary of Responsibilities:
Review commercial real estate appraisals for new acquisitions and quarterly portfolio valuation.
Complete real estate valuations (limited restricted appraisals in conformance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice [USPAP]) as a part of the quarterly portfolio valuation process.
Work with senior associates and engage with external appraisers to obtain accurate property valuations. Schedule, track and monitor real estate valuations.
Apply judgment utilizing real estate industry best practices and established policies and guidelines.
Travel, not to exceed 20% of work time, including but not limited to property inspections, continuing education and meetings with external contacts.

Summary of Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, business administration or related field required.
Five to eight years’ experience with emphasis on appraising institutional-quality commercial and multi-family properties required.
Member of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) and/or Appraisal Institute-General Review Specialist (AI-GRS) designation and compliance with state appraiser certification laws required.
Proven ability to operate Argus Enterprise software, Microsoft Office programs and standard office equipment required.
