Pendley & Pendley Appraisers is a full-service real estate appraisal and consulting firm, with a long history of serving a variety of clients across north Georgia. We are seeking candidates for a Commercial Appraiser position. As a member of our team, you will assist with developing appraisals for lending institutions, local governments, lawyers, CPAs, agents, brokers, investors, developers, and private property owners. You will gain experience with a variety of property types and appraisal methods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of real estate and property valuation principles, along with good written and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of real estate market trends and regulatory changes affecting property valuations.
Conduct on-site and field inspections of properties across north Georgia and metro Atlanta.
Examine building construction and site characteristics for all property types.
Measure buildings and complete calculations for various building area estimates.
Utilize GIS technology to assess property data and enhance valuation accuracy.
Complete thorough market research and analysis of local market conditions.
Gather and research data using public and private data sources.
Analyze income and expense information.
Verify the validity of data used in appraisals through independent analysis and by interviews of market participants.
Prepare accurate, well-written, and timely appraisal reports in accordance with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.
Deliver high quality customer service to clients and points of contact.
Collaborate with clients, real estate agents, and other stakeholders to provide expert appraisal services.
Qualifications
Real estate and/or appraisal experience is preferred.
May need to obtain and maintain necessary certifications, as required by the State of Georgia and the Appraisal Qualifications Board.
Strong analytical skills to examine market data and perform calculations related to property valuation.
Good written and oral communications skills.
Experience in research data collection techniques relevant to real estate analysis.
Solid understanding of financial concepts related to real estate investments and valuations.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines, when necessary.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Access, and must be able to learn and be able to use additional software, as necessary.
