Position Purpose
The Credit Appraiser objectively reviews and evaluates AgriBank Association internal credit and collateral appraisal review programs for integrity and reliability. Additional duties include appraisal field reviews and periodic credit reviews of non-Farm Credit wholesale lending customers.
The level of the job will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant work experience, in which job functions and level of responsibility could vary.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, agri-business, accounting or related field
- 3 years of credit experience
- 7 years of appraisal experience
- General appraisal license
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Intermediate knowledge of credit and analysis
- Intermediate knowledge of agricultural property/collateral appraisal
- Intermediate knowledge of Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice
- Advanced appraisal review knowledge and skills
- Intermediate knowledge of loan portfolio risk management concepts
- Intermediate knowledge of lending and loan risk management concepts
- Intermediate knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Intermediate knowledge of financial analysis
- Intermediate knowledge of Farm Credit-credit policies and procedures
- Skill in listening and conveying awareness of a customer's problem or issue to find resolution
- Oral and written communication skills, sufficient to exchange information and convey recommendations effectively with peers, supervisor, loan committee and customers
- Skill in analyzing information to formulate logical and objective conclusions and recommendations
- Skill in gathering, compiling and organizing information
- Skill in working as part of a team and collaborating with colleagues
- Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of AgriBank’s systems and data
