Washington County Assessment and Taxation Department (A&T) is seeking to fill two bilingual and/or multicultural Business Personal Property Tax Auditor vacancies. The Business Personal Property Tax Auditor is a skilled position dedicated to a high level of customer service and attention to detail while processing a high volume of confidential business personal property returns. Processing return functions include reconciling detailed lists of assets with costs; auditing for reporting compliance; determining and assigning appropriate depreciation schedules to assets; and data entry for valuation purposes. In addition, this position may update account information for ownership and name and address changes, along with closing and setting up new accounts. The Business Personal Property Tax Auditor will answer and handle difficult public phone calls and in-office interactions on a rotational basis with two other Auditor staff.

They approach all projects with enthusiasm and determination, using teamwork and all the tools and technology at their disposal to arrive at the best solution possible. The ideal candidate is a life-long learner, willing to learn from others and accept constructive feedback. They thrive while working in an office or out in the field.
A background in math and/or science is preferred, but not required.
